Looking around, as if using a rear view mirror, I realized that if a topic occupied my ideals, my enthusiasm, my frustrations, even some justified indignation, was the search to rescue and exalt the legacy that gave us that unique and peculiar “being” to all Hispanic Americans, including to those, who are unaware of it or, knowing it, deny it. The cosmos that America received and the blend with Spanish blood and culture, had as a result a unique and unrepeatable phenomenon in the history of humanity. This achievement, which began at the end of the fifteenth century, resulted in the discovery, conquest and conformation of a peculiar empire, which left as a precious pledge, what is called Hispanidad, “Hispanism”.
